Hiking expedition in Northern Pakistan
Pakistan is most known for its heart warming and welcoming people, one of the most hospitable
people you will ever meet!
In Pakistan you can find highest mountain ranges in the world including Himalayas, Karakoram and
the Hindu Kush. I am still amazed at the untouched landscapes. From Trekking to glaciers, reaching
the Nanga Parbat base camp or just taking in pure nature, in this tour we will explore the most
gorgeous northern valleys!
Highlights
Your journey will begin with your arrival to Lahore!
We will pick you up from Lahore airport when you land. You can arrive
any time before noon. Most flights arrive early, so you can rest in the
hotel. Your expedition begins at noon but if you arrive earlier there
are several sights worth checking out.
After your welcome meeting, we will kick start today without wasting
anytime. Your day begins with a lunch buffet, offering a medley of
local and international flavors. Energized and ready for exploration.
Later this afternoon, we will head to the India Pakistan border known
as the Wagha Border. This is a daily ceremony which displays
patriotism including marches, lowering of the flags. This is a busy
and bustling atmosphere, crowd cheering loudly for Pakistan.
A perfect start to introducing the Pakistan to you all!
Welcome to Pakistan!

After breakfast at the hotel, we take a city tour with a local guide to
discover the historical gems of Lahore.
Mosque followed by the Lahore Fort. This is a UNESCO world Heritage
site. The sprawling complex of palaces, gardens, and mesmerizing
frescoes whispers tales of bygone eras. We then stop at the famous
and most magnificent Badshahi Mosque. You can not visit Lahore
and not visit this masterpiece. It has colossal domes with beautful
minarets, and intricate architecture. A testament to the Mughal
empire. We will have lunch at the most famous Haveli restaurant
overlooking the badshahi mosque.
We will say by to Lahore and make our journey up north towards
Islamabad. This will be a long day so we will start early and make our
way up north!
Welcome to Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital city. Translating as ‘City of
Islam’, Islamabad was built in the 1960s to replace Karachi as the
nation’s capital, though there’s evidence that humans have lived in
the area for many thousands of years

Get ready, as this is where we start making the trip to the jewel of
Pakistan- Northern Pakistan, the untamed wilderness.
Early morning drive from Islamabad to Juglot the gilgit baltistan
region of northern Pakistan. On the way we have breakfast, lunch and
dinner.
This was be a long journey but scenic views points. This will get achance to get to know each other and will have some ice breaking
sessions. Ensure you have your sleep pillow if you prefer, a good
book and some AirPods!

We will be staying in Fairy Meadows but FIRST rise up early morning,
and we will embark on our scenic bus ride to Raikot bridge- this is
where the adventure truly begins. We will then take Jeeps along the
worlds most treacherous road. Dont fear they have been modified to
make for a much smoother ride in the last few years and we have
the best drivers who make it look easy and are truly professionals.
We will go as far as we can with the jeeps and then after that will hike
for the next three hours through beautiful streams, dense forest and
taking stops alongside for Pakistani Chai!
We eventually arrive in Fairy meadows and will be rewarded with a
night around the fire. The nights here are magical and we will be
spending 2 nights here sleeping in traditional log cabins. We will get
you settled into your cabin and take in a breathtaking view of Nanga
Parbat.
Fuel up for tomorrows trek with a freshly cooked dinner, then head
out to the bonfire or catch some rest.

We will have breakfast at the accommodation at fairy meadows and
today is where the adventure unfolds as its hiking day! Depending on
the weather and trail conditions, we will be trekking to Nanda part
basecamp. We will visit a few different stunning viewpoints of Nanga
Parbat.
Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest mountain in the world and 2nd
highest in Pakistan. The mountain trails guide you to Bayal camp. As
you ascend, the awe-inspiring path towards Nanga Parbat view
point, looms ever closer, with amazing viewpoint so close to the
mountain! Dont worry as we are only going to base camp. There will
be four viewpoint checkpoints, so if you feel like you can’t do the full
hike, the second view point is mesmerising too. We will have multiple
trekking guides with us who will help encourage us all. We will have
lunch at the view point.
After a day of trekking and embracing the raw beauty of nature, you
return to the enchanting Fairy Meadows for another restful night
around the roaring campfire with chai after a hearty and wholesome
meal. Depending on the mood, dancing around the campfire to local
music with the locals.

We will return the way we came; hike 2 hours down from from Fairy
Meadows, take the Jeeps back to the road back to our tour bus on
the Karakoram Highway and make our way to Naltar!
Naltar Valley is a breathtaking gem for any adventurer. Known for its
vibrant blend of emerald green forests, alpine meadows, and rugged
snow-capped peaks, this remote valley feels like a hidden paradise.
We will go to a Naltar view point and if lucky get to see a rare snow
leopard in the mountains.
Depending on the group size and weather, we may camp in Naltar.
Camp under the stars for the night in one of the most beautiful and
untouched places in the world.
(Please note this will be subject to the group size and if weather
permits, otherwise we will stay in hotels)

Early morning breakfast and we will make our way to the wonder of
the world- Naltar lakes. There are 3 lakes; each lake has its own
unique charm, with hues ranging from turquoise to deep emerald,
adding to the sense of other worldly tranquility.
We will take a 2 hour Jeep ride through the Valley to see the lakes.
The Valleys charm is further heightened by the peaceful solitude,
interrupted only by the rustle of the wind through the trees and the
occasional distant call of wildlife. The Famous Naltar lakes shimmer like mirrors, reflecting the towering peaks that surround them,
casting an almost surreal beauty onto the landscape.
There will be an optional hike to reach the 3rd lake. As you trek
through, the air is crisp and the landscapes evolve with every step,
from dense pine forests to expansive clearings blanketed wild
flowers.
Naltar is not just a place to hike; it's an invitation to immerse yourself
in natures most pristine, untouched beauty.
We will return the way we came; take the Jeeps back to the road
back to our tour bus on the Karakoram Highway and make our way
to Karimabad in Hunza. This is lovely town and one of the main tourist
town of Northern Pakistan. You also take the opportunity to catch up
on some much-needed wifi connectivity …and coffee!

Karimabad offers sweeping views of some of the worlds highest
mountains, including Rakaposhi and Ultar sar, which rise majestically
above the valley.
Today will be a much needed chill day and catch up on some much
needed rest.
There is an optional add on we can arrange for Baltit fort in the
morning or you can catch up on much needed sleep. You can also
try the famous cafe de hunza and known for their walnut cake!
At Sunset we will walk through the town, showing you some amazing views! You will get a chance to interact with the locals.
You can explore the streets of Karimabad. Karimabad is great for
cafes, shopping, and is a bustling hub of local culture and
craftsmanship. This is the perfect place to shop for souvenirs,
handicrafts, and just enjoy the friendly locals and minimal traffic.
We will enjoy a traditional Hunzai meal in the evening

After brunch we will make our way to a place called Duiker. This is an
optional hike.
You can hike from Karimabad to Duiker and take in the amazing
views or can take the bus to the top and observe the incline.
Duiker eagles nest offers breath taking panoramic views and lucky if
we catch the amazing sunset. The views include surrounding peaks
and wide expanse of Hunza Valley, including Rakaposhi, Lady Finger
and Ultar Sar. As the sun sets, we will have a local evening around a
cozy bonfire, enjoying a BBQ feast (Including veggie options),
traditional music, and stories under the starlit sky. It’s a night of
culture, music and celebration.

Early morning and continue further into Hunza with our first stop
being attabad lake. In 2010 after a landslide attabad lake was
created and now is one of the majestic places to visit in the norther
areas. We will embark on the Baskochi trek, which offers spectacular
views of the lake. This is a lesser known trek and hence will have the
place to ourselves. I would compare these views to Fjords of Norway (
or better!). We will take a boat ride on the lake and if you are lucky,
may get a chance to operate the boat!
We will finish this day with a ride along the ghulkin Orchard trail
before we arrive at our traditional homestay in Ghulkin for an
authentic experience. Here you will enjoy a traditional home cooked
meal made by the family who will join us for dinner. Experience local
life in the mountains and enjoying some hearty home cooked food!

You wake up in a small, rural and ultra remote village called Ghulkin
surrounded by apricot trees and apple orchards. Today we prepare
for another thrilling day. An expedition through the black glacier, a
starkly beautiful landscape of ice and rock. We have multiple trekking
guides with us who will support and encourage us throughout! After
traversing the glacier, reach borith lake and rest or take a chilly swim
in the water. An optional white glacier hike is there for the
adventurous hikers. This is one of the most beautiful glaciers you will witness!
Today we also visit the iconic Passu Hanging Bridge, a marvel of local
engineering that spans 300m across the Hunza River. We have all
seen the videos on line and yes this is the bridge! You do not need to
cross if you don’t feel comfortable and take in the views.
We then make our way to Passu cones and be ready because this is
where we take our iconic photo shoot with the cones in the back! A
memorable shot. We head back to ghulkin for our last night at the
homestay!

We will make our way from Ghulkin to Skardu very early morning.
Depending on the time we arrive we either visit Lower Kachura lake,
also known as shangrila lake or sunset on sarfaranga desert. (At
sarfaranga desert there is optional activities if you wish like Jeep
ride)

We take a flight from Skardu to Islamabad where you enjoy breath
taking aerial vies of snow capped mountains.
Welcome to Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital city. Translating as ‘City of
Islam’, Islamabad was built in the 1960s to replace Karachi as the
nation’s capital, though there’s evidence that humans have lived in
the area for many thousands of years.
We will kick start today without wasting anytime. Your day begins
with an Afghan BBQ. We will visit the famous Faisal Mosque, the fifth
largest mosque in the world upon its completion in 1986 and is said
to hold 10,000 worshippers
There’ll be a chance to shop for local clothes, so perhaps take the
opportunity to buy a shalwar kameez – the traditional dress of loosefitting trousers and a long shirt.
